Wormwood
Atmospheric melodic black metal from Stockholm. Wormwood fuses raw black metal intensity, Scandinavian melancholy, Nordic folk, and classic rock attitude into haunting soundscapes.
Founded in 2014 in Stockholm, Sweden, Wormwood was born out of a shared vision to unite five distinct musical backgrounds into one grand symbiosis. Combining the stage attitude of rock ’n’ roll with the raw, take-no-prisoners visage of black metal, ambient soundscapes, and deep northern folk heritage, the band forged a signature style they originally dubbed “Atmospheric Blackened Folk’n’Roll”.
With their diverse debut full-length album “Ghostlands – Wounds from a Bleeding Earth” (2017, Non Serviam Records), Wormwood demonstrated their ability to express a vast sea of emotion—where one song delivers straight-up black metal fury, another channels Nordic folk melodies, and the next unfolds into sweeping atmospheric melancholy.
Following the release of their acclaimed conceptual album trilogy—“Nattarvet” (2019), “Arkivet” (2021), and “The Star” (2024)—Wormwood has cemented its place at the forefront of Scandinavian melodic black metal. Delivering a captivating audiovisual experience both on record and on stage, Wormwood performs their first-ever Swiss festival show as co-headliner at Clash of Gods 2027.
