Moonlight Sorcery is a Finnish melodic black metal band known for their mystical and cosmic atmosphere. Drawing inspiration from northern nature, mythology, and the enchanting beauty of the starry sky, the band combines the intensity and brutality of traditional black metal with melodic and epic guitar arrangements infused with classic heavy metal, power metal, and dungeon synth.
The band quickly rose to prominence in the underground scene after releasing their first works in 2022, earning high praise from critics and fans alike and offering an unforgettable journey into a magical world shrouded in moonlight.
Following two acclaimed EPs in 2022, Moonlight Sorcery unleashed their stunning debut full-length album “Horned Lord of the Thorned Castle” in 2023. While “Piercing Through the Frozen Eternity” was all about deep, dark, and ice-cold atmosphere and “Nightwind: The Conqueror from the Stars” showcased the rawer side of Moonlight Sorcery, “Horned Lord of the Thorned Castle” is a seamless fusion of both. Packed with melodic hooks, blistering guitar shredding, and frozen synth walls, every track tells a carefully composed story. Mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, the songs rise to their full potential in a dangerously shredding combination of pure heavy and black metal mayhem.
Moonlight Sorcery is currently working on new music slated for release in 2027 and will celebrate their exclusive Swiss live debut as co-headliner at Clash of Gods Festival 2027.
