Ritualistic Black and Death Metal from Portugal infused with the ancient haunting spirit of Mesopotamia. ANZV creates more than music—conjuring a sonic ritual of void, shadow, and transcendence.
Challenging the truth of the very foundations of our existence might lead us into breaking those axioms and replacing them with nothing but a void—a void so pleasing and appealing that it is almost impossible not to stare at and, inevitably, walk towards it. Step by step, with our past flashing before our eyes, it drains our senses and gives way to apathy as we reach the edge. And so we dive in a fast free fall down the emptiness, the morning star cast down with nothingness sinking in through every single pore of our body. Right at the close, at the limit near infinity, we bounce back gracefully numb: we are no-one in nowhere.
Drawing from the raw essence of classic and modern black metal with a synthesis that conjures an intense, evocative atmosphere from the ancient haunting spirit of Mesopotamia, Porto-based ANZV (founded in 2019) creates more than music—it builds experiences.
This is the essence of “Gallas”: a descent into nihilistic depth where the subconscious is laid bare and all belief systems are drowned in darkness. We are cursed to endure—not in salvation, but in exile. What once passed for divine mercy now casts us into the netherworld of despair and meaninglessness.
With “Kur”, ANZV descends even deeper. Infused with the arcane spirit of Mesopotamia and the fury of black metal’s rawest form, the album conjures a realm where ancient rites, death deities, and forgotten truths clash in a storm of sound and shadow. It is a sonic ritual—a metaphysical journey through the gates of the netherworld, where awe, dread, and transcendence await.
This is no mere performance. It is immersion. A confrontation with Apsu—where one stares into nothingness and, perhaps, finds the self obliterated. This is music for those who have looked into the abyss—and heard it whisper back.
